Personal and business coaching in Cambridge

testimonials

Coaching forced me to take the time to consider what it really was that I wanted out of my career and life generally. I have never taken the opportunity to discuss this in an impartial way before.

I occasionally recognize a self-limiting belief now and it makes a difference. I most valued impartiality, confidentiality and fun in our coaching relationship.

Last night I signed a contract to move to Vancouver with MDA. They offered me a great job including relocation. Chris and I are excited about the future and looking forward to finding a new home somewhere out in the woods by a lake or river.

I found the sessions with you fun and informative and would certainly recommend that anyone with a doubt about where they are going (almost everyone) talk to you. Even though I have taken a positive decision I still hear the gremlins circling and doubt jumps from time to time.I'd love to do more and may well contact you.

What a fantastic experience! I wasn't quite sure what to expect but Jill gave me an initial overview and then we kicked off with the discovery sessions…

She is a superb coach, energetic and positive she wants you to truly be your best and offers you 100% support whilst making you 100% accountable for your own actions. She keeps it straightforward and easy, teaching skills that can be applied to business, relationships and home environments.

I am now much more aware of my strengths and skills and how to use them to reach my goals, regular contact (and mine varied from weekly to monthly) with someone with an objective point of view brings you back to focus on what you want and how you are going to do it.

In a world where we are all so busy and stretched in multiple directions, life coaching with Jill is like a breath of fresh air, if you have this opportunity, take it and make your life what you truly want it to be.

Coaching has benefited me because:

  • I have achieved my goal of getting a new job for when I leave the Civil Service.
  • I have grown as a person and I know have confidence in my own abilities.
  • I have got a job that meets all my values, that will stretch me and that will enable me to make a difference.
  • I speak with confidence, I do not rush when asked to make decisions and I have far more self-respect.

Coaching made a difference in my life as I am more confident, assertive and I make decisions without prevaricating. I value that you saw the potential in me, that you could always ask the right questions.

Every day I remember something you taught me, or said to me, so something must have stuck!

My husband has noticed the change in me and he has admitted that the time and money was well spent. I would not have missed any of it and I would recommend you to others without hesitation.

Keep on doing what you do – there are many others like me out there, who have potential locked away and who do not have the self confidence to be themselves or to appreciate their own abilities.

Coaching helped me to make real the feeling/ideas that had been bubbling away inside me for years. My ideas have come to fruition … It's real, I have a plan, volunteers, funding and a logo!

I have my values to refer back to which I do often. More than anything I have found my calling. I valued most the honesty in the relationship and the value you placed on what I was trying to achieve. I think the belief you showed in me was really helpful.

The session where you drew out the big picture vision for Ignite and the policy and influencing role was so valuable and made me think really big and to the edge of my potential. That has really stayed with me and I put myself back there when I'm working on Ignite. I found coaching a safe place to think big (like the session I mentioned above) and I liked being pushed to think that way.

The coaching really was the best investment I made in myself in years, thanks for taking me through it.

KC, Founder, Ignite Leadership

Coaching has provided a place to stimulate my thoughts, challenge some of my conclusions, and has given me someone who will walk alongside me through a decision making time in my life with a fresh view on things to people who have known me a long time.

Some of the questions and discussions we had led me to a line of thinking which laid the stepping stones to take the opportunities which I have done. I was at an impass, but because of the thinking I've done through the coaching, I was ready to take the opportunity when it came. The key thing was the visualisation thing we did about being on the sea in a ship (with pink sails, I think) and whether it was going to go into harbour, or to an island. The idea that I was 'at sea' really came home to me, and helped me frame my view of my current situation.

Articulating what is important to me through knowing my values has given me a framework to test future decisions by. I have started to use lot of reflective tools again.

I appreciated that you remembered things that I had said, and fed them back to me when I needed to hear them. I like that you conveyed that you liked coaching me, and that you laughed during the sessions. I found you very intuitive, which is a joy to encounter. I also liked the 'in your face' challenges and responses, which is unlike a lot of my friends. Even though I didn't always agree with them, they were a bump to think again about how I was approaching something, which was very helpful.

I've really appreciated how you have taken on board my situation and responded to it. I also appreciated that you respected that I did not want to talk about relationships, until I did!

Through clarifying my purpose, life goals and values, I have gained a sense of becoming a more rounded person. Decisions across different areas of my life are more straight forward and consistent. Using your values as a basis for decision making is really powerful as this ‘personal rules' create simplicity. I feel more able to focus energy more efficiently as I am clearer about what is and isn't important.

I am better able to articulate the reasons for decisions – from job offers, relationships, starting new hobbies and how I am beneficial to my friends. Instinctively, I feel that I am being more true to myself.

Coaching has provided more mental clarity and has given me a better sense of confidence and understanding about who I am. I most enjoyed your attitude that anything is possible and to challenge me to ‘think big'. I find that your ‘truth' value is truly powerful as it creates a challenging and rewarding relationship. Your abundant enthusiasm and energy is infectious. I'm really grateful to have the opportunity to be coached by you, Jill.

Ms KD, HR Consultant

Jill McCulloch coached me over seven months, starting at a period in my life where I felt lost and unsure of what I wanted to achieve.

Being coached by Jill was surprisingly powerful and energising. Through a structured process of perceptive questioning, listening and feedback she helped me discover what is important to me and where I really want to go in life.

Over time, our coaching sessions enabled me to identify a series of personal and business goals, and Jill's enthusiasm and support helped me work my way steadily towards them.

Not only did she help me achieve those goals, but she gave me the tools and models to continue coaching myself towards success in the future.

I have come a long way in a few months, Jill – thank you! MM, Communications Training Consultant

Coaching has given me greater insight into myself – what makes me tick and how this balance can be maintained- and the personal goals that are important to me. Being more aware of these values has made me more assertive about attaining and keeping them. Coaching has made me realize that it is essential to hold these values close for my own sense of well being and future goals.

I have a much clearer vision of what I want to do and am able to break this down into ‘bite ‘ size pieces, which are much easier to focus on and achieve. The demons of ‘shoulds' and ‘oughts' have gone, particularly in relation to what I am doing. I don't feel the need to justify what I am doing with my life ie. studying full time or feel guilty about it – not being the martyr anymore, running round like a headless chicken to please everyone and getting really would up about it, giving myself permission for me time – walking, meditating etc.

Coaching has given me back a sense of purpose, I had lost my way and whilst deep down I wanted to do the things I am now embarking on I had set up too many brick walls to achieve them. Taking them down and changing can be nerve-wracking, but is actually much more liberating and I seem to be doing more now, probably because it is more satisfying to the person I really am so now I am but not chasing round and investing in projects that ultimately wound me up.

I found our relationship very easy and natural right from the start because I think we meet on many levels – wives, mothers, intelligence, spirituality and intuition and so it made it easy to tap into your creativity and not feel uncomfortable. I also really appreciated your adaptability to my needs at particular points along the way as a random, abstract thinker I think that many people find this difficult!

You are very professional and skilled at what you do and clearly spend a lot of time developing your skills and techniques. I think that from a clients point of view the adaptability you offer and the amount of back-up you offer through e-mail or phone is excellent, it gives a less rigid and much more personal approach which I really appreciated.

Mrs LT, now Studying for Doctorate

Coaching has helped me understand much more about myself and the way I think. Things that I was vaguely aware of but never really understood have become clearer and makes sense to some actions. I have achieved positive outcomes from the coaching which have been measurable eg the additional reading I have done, the improvements to my sleeping patterns, improvements in healthy lifestyle, the change in my attitude towards horse and improved quality of time I spend with him and friends there.

Coaching has helped me become more self aware and be better prepared to manage challenging situations. The regular sessions also help me to deal with issues that arise rather than let it all build up.

I most value your positive attitude, ability to adapt to needs of each session and come out with a focus at the end, to give insight and guidance. You also pick up some core ideas and to be able to remind me of the things that I have achieved.

Your availability in between sessions when I have needed it, I felt quite awkward about bothering you initially but found the quick calls or emails really helpful.

From my perspective I think you are a great coach, it is a pleasure to work with you and I will happily recommend you.

The summary notes at the end of a call are helpful, although I know it is difficult for you to take notes as well as be in the moment for the coaching, your perspective to summarise the sessions I find very helpful to consolidate the learning and the plan for the next one. Working with you as a coach, I look forward to our sessions as I always feel better afterwards.

Ms J G, Manager, Pharmaceutical Industry, June 2009

I was a bit dubious to start with as to whether the coaching could/would make any difference to how I feel about myself & my confidence but I have been pleasantly surprised. I'm finding that I am now beginning to see the acting up as a challenge rather than being absolutely terrified of it & Jill has made me realise that I was constantly putting myself down as I was always striving for perfection & not reaching it. I now know that it is important to have standards & goals, but that I will encounter things from time to time that I have had no experience of and I cannot expect to always know the answer. It is ok to get things wrong occasionally! I have even set one of my long term goals as going to the ADC (which I never even thought I would consider!) I hope this is an obtainable goal - what are your thoughts on this?

I have also been pushing myself to take more watch training (completely out of my comfort zone) - I have been making sure I read through the lecture pack before hand and practice any questions I will ask & I am slowly building up my confidence each time. I have even volunteered to help out with the IRS training coming up and Debbie was kind enough to let me help her out on the Safe To Ride course she did recently - things I would never even have contemplated a few months back.

Jill is also helping me move forward in my relationship & to be all I want to be as a Mum. We have worked out what my most important values are & my life purpose statement & I'm starting to feel I am getting to know myself better. I want to make a difference to people & therefore Jill has also encouraged me to apply to become a first responder for Magpas, something I have wanted to do for a while but have been too scared to do anything about it!

Basically the coaching is making such a difference for me & I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with her through the brigade & all the support you have given me with this. I think I may look at seeing Jill from time to time myself in the future after the 3 months through the brigade is up as I think there is so much more I have yet to learn.
